Don’t Settle for Anything Less than the Best

When choosing your darts gear, which means your board and darts, you should never settle for anything that can’t help you play well and enjoy every moment of the game.

There is no point in having a great set of darts if every time you throw, you hit the wire on your dartboard and see your darts dropping.

A dartboard with a quality surface is very important because it will allow the dart to easily stick and won’t get damaged soon.  This is precisely what a Kenyan sisal dartboard can do for you.

Another key aspect of this type of dartboard is the blade wire spider system. This means the wires are not flat against the dartboard, as in many other models, and it comes with a blade profile that points away from the dartboard. The result is a very narrow wire surface, which means your chances to hit it full on and make the dart bounce out are very slim.

Still, what happens if your dart does hit the wire?

Well, thanks to the special triangular shape of the blade wire, you will notice how the dart actually slides down the wire and into the board more often than it bounces out.

It’s very unlikely to see a bounce out when using this type of dartboard because most of the darts will deviate off the wire and into the board. This is great, especially when you have a close grouping of darts in the triple 20, for example.

The last thing you want to see is two of your darts landing perfectly inside the triple 20 and the third one hitting the wire and dropping to the floor.
With a Kenyan sisal dartboard, most of your darts will slide inside, which could mean a difference between 60 points and nothing.

In budget dartboards, you can see that the wire frame is attached to the board with staples. This is another reason why darts hit the floor instead of landing in the board.

Staples do nothing but increase the size of the dartboard’s wiring
and the area of the board you don’t want to hit.

Thankfully you can choose a staple-free dartboard, which means you will never need to worry about your dart dropping after hitting a staple. The advantage is double: a higher score and less darts damage.

So, if you’re fed up with seeing your darts hit the wire and then bouncing out, it’s time to invest in a blade wire spider, staple-free, dartboard, and see your scores skyrocket.
